Damn you ESPN...

...for your late night repeats of the WSOP 2007. I didn't follow it at all this summer, and I love H.O.R.S.E. However, I've been trying to reset my horrible sleep schedule. I guess I'll just keep an eye out for repeats... got to know when to fold 'em ;)

Like finding an old record player in the attic

I had almost forgot about this old site. I just started back into poker when I got an email saying that Absolute Poker had given me 10 dollars to play with. (Maybe its from that superuser account? A Robin Hood of sorts?) Either way, I'm going to be back in some capacity. I know no one but the bots probably read this blog before, but either way, it'll keep me motivated to have enough of a bankroll to figure out some way to get to Vegas in '08 for my rookie year. 21 years old in 2 months... here the first step of the journey.

I haven't played poker in two weeks, when Poker Share closed down all US accounts.

Wow. I guess I'm not addicted. Definitely a good sign. Of course.. this is also because Neteller doesn't like my Wachovia bank... so yeah. But its like not having money to buy cigarettes.... without the headaches and the tension and the stress.

Ok.. so I've never given up smoking. But I'm not begging for cash online like this guy! http://www.unitedpokerforum.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=29073&hl=paypalLink

PokerShare isn't sharing.

Dear Daniel Page,
We would like to thank you for being a member of PokerShare. We are writing to inform you that due to a policy change as of November 1, 2005 North American residents are no longer able to play in the PokerShare cardroom.
We have closed your account, DannyPage. If you had a cash balance in your account we have initiated a withdrawal for you to refund these monies in full. Along with your cash balance we have converted any Tournament Entry Chips (TECs) and included them in the withdrawal of funds.
If you are owed money, you will be receiving a check in full for your entire account balance to your address on file. Balances in excess of $50 have been sent by FedEx. Smaller balances have been sent by regular mail.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
Sincerely,
Robert

Damn. Someone misdealt UB a bad hand....

I guess I'm taking a forced break from poker.. seeing as how my $250 bankroll is somewhere between Limbo and High Point. Over/under line is closer to Limbo. Unless the Fedex man can be my hero sometime soon. So, what does an 18 year-old addicted-to-poker college student do? Well, I give you the Top 10 things that I could do (and so could you, if you are in the same boat. Don't tip it, by the way, these are my new shoes.)

10. Analyze my Poker Tracker Omaha stats. (Bought that 2 days ago too.. crap.)
9. Reclassify players based on my (small, but reasonable) 3000 hand sample. The default rules suck.
8. Call home.
7. Ask for money.
6. Don't mention being locked out of the account.. they may think you are asking for Poker money..
5. Do homework (should be doing that right now..)
4. Read the Communist Manifesto Read PinkMonkey.com about the Communist Manifesto.
3. Get some miles in for the upcoming Track season.
2. Get some sleep.
And totally destroying any possibility of doing 2-10....
1. Play World of Warcraft!

My Level 19 Night Elf Rogue doesn't have too much respect.. except at Battlegrounds! DPS suckers!

The wonder that is 2-card Omaha 8/B...

Someday (probably tomorrow) I shall talk about my success with taking 5 free dollars and making a decent bankroll out of it.. If fact, that should be the point of my blog, building a bankroll with the intention of going to the WSOP in 2008.

Just like any other tv-raised poker player. :D

Anyway, tonight... live blogging of my omaha 8/b .25/.50 endevors.

-- TQJK, flops two pair against a raising shortstack, they go all-in with, what else, AA95. +25
-- Hit an ace-high flush on the turn, Q-high flush pays me off while I split with a decent low. +15
-- Limp/call raises with shoddy hands. ALWAYS happens after I start winning.. a bad leak. -10
-- 777Ax board... realize my pair of aces doesn't work as a full house. But my KK does as the second best. Double the 5 dollar bet by the SB... he pays me off QQ, no low, and I rake. +20

....

fuck.

...

Raise from a loose-player.. either means AA or A2.. i call with QT23 suited. A8K, two diamonds. I have the nut flush draw and the nut low draw. I get 4 to 1 odds on a pot bet... call. T on the turn. He goes all in, one call, and I'm getting 3 to 1. hmm.. call.

A on the fucking river. damn. I'm going to have to check the odds on this one. That way I can check if I just donated.. or missed. hmm. -45.

BTW.. one had Quad aces, another had nothing at all but a gutshot, and one had a lower flush draw. Damn. A low diamond, and I would have scooped. High diamond, probably scoop. (unless it pairs the board..) low card..

Two dimes result:
pokenum -o8 7s 9d ac ah - kc jc 5s 3s - jd 8d 9s 6c - qd 3h 2d td -- 8c ad kd

Omaha Hi/Low 8-or-better: 528 enumerated boards containing 8c Ad Kd

cards scoop HIwin HIlos HItie LOwin LOlos LOtie EV

7s Ac 9d Ah 92 312 216 0 0 89 0 0.383

5s 3s Kc Jc 29 45 483 0 84 245 9 0.141

Sweet. Don't feel like a fish right now. Had huge odds on the flop, and even odds on the turn.

Just wish I hit though... 137 dollar pot.. but could have probably gotten more out of the 53 low guy. Oh well, i'm even. I've doubled up before, I'm going to do it again. Hell, I will triple up. I guarantee it!

Either way.. I at have my 25 UB points to comfort me.
